Towns Together - Brynmawr Street Makeover
Thank you to everyone who took part in our recent poll. Thanks to your feedback, Beaufort Street received the most votes and has been selected as the first area to benefit from a community-led improvement project in Brynmawr.
We're now looking for volunteers to help make it happen.
Building on the success of the Abertillery Town Centre Boost, Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council is inviting residents, businesses, community groups and local organisations to get involved in a community clean-up and environmental improvement day on Saturday 22 August 2026.
The Abertillery project demonstrated the positive impact that local people can have when they work together. Volunteers helped clean and refresh public spaces, improve the appearance of shopfronts, enhance community areas and create a more welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.
Now, we'd like to bring that same community spirit to Beaufort Street.
Whether you can spare an hour or join us for the whole day, your support can help make a visible difference to the area. This is a great opportunity to meet others in the community, take pride in your local environment and play an active role in shaping the future of Brynmawr.
The poll is now closed, and the next stage begins now. If you'd like to get involved and volunteer on 22 August 2026, we'd love to hear from you.
In the spirit of The Blaenau Gwent Deal, this is about more than a clean-up day. It is about residents, businesses, community groups and the Council working together to create thriving places, strengthen community pride and put local people at the heart of positive change. By giving a little of our time and energy, we can help build a stronger, more resilient Brynmawr where everyone has a role to play in shaping the future of their community. Together, we can show what is possible when local people come together with a shared purpose and a commitment to making a difference.
