Why has this park been chosen?

There is strict criteria in place for all funding linked to the UK Government’s Pride in Place programme. Brynmawr Welfare Park was identified for funding following an evidence-led assessment which identified community safety, play and recreation needs, high levels of public use, and strong links to the town centre. The park provided the best opportunity to deliver a significant, lasting improvement that benefits the widest range of residents whilst meeting the funding requirements.
